An additional benefit is the opportunity to use one control for several units simultaneously. This gives the surgeon freedom in the operating room, space and more time to concentrate on the patient and operative technique. Using two units during one surgery saves a lot of time, and it is an advantage when you do not have to search for the correct foot control. Also by using just one foot pedal requires less storage space.

New straight and contra-angle handpieces with excellent and extended illumination, which lasts after the motor stops running, gives clear and direct view of the operative field. PD Dr. Jörg Neugebauer: “Treatment time and predictable outcome are still the relevant factors for our patient to undergo a complex implant prosthetic treatment. Due to my specialization with a couple of hundred referring dentists, an objective measurement of the implant stability is necessary.


Even with the use of short and angulated placed implants there is still a need for grafting procedures. For a safe treatment, implant stability should be monitored without harming the implant, to determine the healing time after implant placement and the loading time after second stage surgery.

With the Osstell device a reliable assessment of the implant stability and the degree of osseointegration is possible. With this data an individual determination of the different healing periods is possible, which leads in an optimum treatment time and allows to manage risky patients.

Due to the cooperation with W&H with the new generation of Implantmed, a combined device is available, which minimizes the number of devices during surgery. During the implant placement a control of bone quality and implant stability is easily possible, which allows a protection of the hard tissue for over-compression or overloading.”
