Positioning implants

The system presented demonstrates the possibility that, with individual positioning assistance, implants could be inserted precisely in accordance with the prosthetic and anatomical principles. This system can be used without any additional effort, due to the fact that it is constructed with only one hole and one fixing pin and the spacers are attached to the contra-angle.

In practice, the maintenance of the implant gaps also proves to be very difficult [3] for the experienced implantologists and can only be corrected with a great deal of surgical effort [5, 6, 8]. This is particularly the case if, due to an existing tightly-fitted prosthetic provision, a drilling template can only be produced in a restricted way.

Distance gauge

The different spacers enable the combination of different implant diameters which relate to the gaps before neighbouring teeth and between a number of implants. In this way, errors due to implants being positioned too closely and subsequently causing premature bone loss can be avoided [1]. Tray with system components

Result / Case Study

A 45 year-old endocarditis prophylaxis patient wished to have implants inserted for supporting a bridge, in our clinic.

However, usage is only possible in conjunction with W&H's special contra-angle, because the distance gauge pays precise attention to the contra-angle and therefore there is no need to worry about positional deviation. The contra-angle is optimised for implant prosthetic usage and enables the transferral of torque up to 105 Ncm, due to a special gear.
