W&H kicks off IDS trade fair week

With W&H trade fair week was under way as early as the day before the official opening of the IDS. At a get-together for media representatives and an exclusive gala evening for partners, W&H showcased new products and proven classics from their extensive portfolio. The main focus of the two W&H events was on how the company will present itself in the coming year and what new products users can look forward to. On 20th March, Cologne’s Flora venue played host to W&H partners from around the globe and media representatives from the German-speaking world for the second time, as they all came together to learn first-hand about W&H’s current and future market activities, industry partnerships and technological innovations plus to strengthen long-standing business relationships.

W&H media get-together – a technological outlook

The main focus of the media event was on actively maintaining and consistently expanding the international network. Through collaborations with selected partners, W&H Managing Director Peter Malata hopes to develop valuable synergies, both from a technological and marketing perspective. There is also a focus on working closely with universities and institutes in order to ensure successful product development, according to Malata. This allows W&H to continually offer its global customers an innovative product range.

Roland Gruber, Head of Sales and Marketing at W&H Deutschland/W&H Austria, was also in attendance at IDS to give an overview of W&H’s product innovations. Among the products he presented, from the restoration and prosthetics sector, was the Primea Advanced Air Turbine, the world’s first air-driven dental drive solution for high-speed preparation. Another technological innovation introduced by Gruber was the new Implantmed. Thanks to a close collaboration with Osstell, W&H has successfully combined the latest generation of its implantology motor with Osstell’s ISQ functionality for measuring implant stability, and is the only manufacturer worldwide to have done so. What’s more, the new Assistina TWIN from W&H ensures efficient lubrication in a record time of just 10 seconds per instrument, making daily work processes significantly easier in dental practices.

The event was then rounded off with a Q&A session, giving media representatives the opportunity to discuss future trends and developments in the dental market with W&H experts.

IDS week starts with a successful gala evening

After the media get-together, some 270 guests celebrated the start of IDS week under the motto “This night is yours … because you care”. The motto was Managing Director Peter Malata’s way of acknowledging the long-standing partnerships and excellent cooperation between W&H and the attendees. With the exclusive dinner held in the Flora’s banqueting hall and the comfortable lounge atmosphere complete with live music, diners had ample opportunity for discussion and renewing friendships. The impressive venue, stunning flower arrangements and lighting effects together with an entertaining programme really contributed to making the evening an outstanding success.

One of the highlights was the special stage design, which aroused curiosity immediately upon entry to the unique banqueting hall. A huge W&H logo, around eight metres wide and four metres high, also proved to be particularly eye-catching, serving as a giant backdrop for some spectacular video projections. But it wouldn’t be W&H, if it was just about product presentation. A holography show, which will live long in the memory of many of the guests, was one of the other highlights of the evening, once again underlining the innovative spirit of W&H. Special product highlights, an appreciation of partners and passion for the dental industry all took centre stage in this thoroughly successful start to IDS 2017 week together.
