W&H and Osstell at the EAO Congress

More safety in all treatment phases

From 11 to 13 October 2018, implantology experts from all over the world will gather at the 26th Annual Scientific Congress of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Centre in Vienna. The focus of the event will be on diagnostics, surgical treatment procedures and clinical aftercare. For W&H and Osstell, the focus of the EAO congress will be on technologies for optimised treatment planning. Interested users can expect comprehensive product expertise on W&H Implantmed with integrable W&H Osstell ISQ module and on Osstell stand-alone devices, including the new Osstell BeaconTM. The diagnostic tool, which was presented for the first time at EuroPerio9 in June 2018, provides doctors with simple guidance on measuring implant stability and the degree of osseointegration.

W&H Implantmed
Implantmed is the only surgical device with integrated implant stability measurement. W&H and Osstell presented their innovation at the EAO congress in Paris in 2016.
Osstell Beacon
The new Osstell Beacon uses a range of colours to show, within a matter of seconds, whether an implant is ready to be fitted with the crown.

Best practice in implant treatment: clinical knowledge from users for users

At the beginning of the EAO congress, on 10 October 2018, W&H and Osstell will invite implantologists to an exclusive hands-on training session on the topic “Implant insertion & soft tissue management” at the University Clinic of Dentistry Vienna. Under the guidance of Dr Ulrike Kuchler (Department of Oral Surgery, University Clinic of Dentistry Vienna), participants have the opportunity to carry out selected indications themselves and in the process learn about the biological backgrounds of tooth implants, their technical handling and optimal management of complications.

And at the Osstell Scientific Symposium on 11 October 2018 at the EAO congress, renowned experts will pass on their experience in oral implantology to their professional audience. They will demonstrate, among other things, how resonance frequency analysis (RFA) simplifies clinical decision-making in dental implantology. Visitors to the symposium can look forward to special cases with live Q&A, advanced surgical techniques and information on new training models and online platforms. The Osstell Scientific Symposium will be moderated by Dr Marcus Dagnelid (Sweden). Other speakers include Dr Ulrike Kuchler, DDr. (Austria), Dr Paul S. Rosen, DMD, MS (USA) and Dr Francisco Teixeira Barbosa, DDS (Spain).

About W&H and Osstell:

Even back in 2016, W&H and Osstell were attracting attention with their cooperation and combined development of the fourth generation of the W&H Implantmed. To this day, Implantmed is the only surgical device with integrated implant stability measurement. Since the incorporation of Osstell AB into the W&H Group at the beginning of March 2018, the two companies are expanding their joint portfolio. Their focus is on integrating product solutions into surgical drive units as well as connecting further products to data management and analysis tools. The common goal of W&H and Osstell is to make tooth implantation even safer and the results even easier to predict.
