Electric Cars at W&H – The Environment-Friendly Alternative
W&H doesn’t rely on the most advanced technologies only when it comes to developing their dental instruments. In cooperation with the local energy supplier, W&H is providing their employees with two electric automobiles for driving the short distances between the company’s two locations in Bürmoos.
Why is W&H banking on electric mobility?
Herbert Traschwandtner (Member of the Executive Management): Utilisation of electric cars is only one example of many related to our principles of sustainable business economics. The biggest advantage is that it is not important for the electric motor to reach a warm-up phase. The distance of about 1.5 kilometres between our two business locations is very unsuited to petrol-powered - and especially diesel – engines from an environmental perspective. The electric vehicles are clearly more efficient and environment-friendly based on the short driving time and distance.
The new electric vehicles have proven to be particularly environment-friendly road users, because they do not produce any CO2 emissions when driven. A journey of 50 kilometres with the new electric cars saves 8 kg of carbon dioxide as opposed to a vehicle with an internal combustion engine. At 5,000 kilometres driven annually, that would result in an 800-kg reduction of CO2 emissions.
