Efficient and atraumatic periodontal therapy

Thorough cleaning of the periodontal pockets and processing of the root surfaces is a fundamental component of successful periodontal therapy. At the same time, modern periodontal therapy focuses on atraumatic procedures which protect the tooth substance. The expanded tip range for periodontal use from W&H now offers users an optimized set of instruments for modern periodontal therapy. In addition to improved access from shallow to very deep periodontal pockets, the tip range offers support in the rapid and at the same time atraumatic cleaning of even angled roots.

The slender periodontal tips from W&H offer optimal tactile feedback, which translates to increased efficiency and added safety for the user, especially in subgingival treatments. Efficient and atraumatic – that’s the motto of the expanded range of periodontal tips from W&H, which was developed in close cooperation with periodontologists and dental hygienists.

New tips for periodontal treatment

The optimized geometry of the tips allows users to benefit from improved access to the treatment area. This makes it possible to reach even hard-to-access areas in the posterior region more easily, thus allowing more thorough removal of biofilm and solid deposits (concretions).

From initial therapy right up to supportive periodontal therapy, the expanded range from W&H includes the perfect tip for every application.

Efficient removal in initial periodontal treatment

Protecting the collagenic soft tissue and root surface from injury is one of the fundamental requirements of successful periodontal treatment. With the new, diamond-coated tips 4P, 5P, 5Pr and 5Pl, W&H now offers the perfect instrument set for initial therapy. This not only offers periodontologists support in the efficient removal of concretions, but the special ergonomic design also allows particularly atraumatic subgingival work.

Whilst the new 4P tip is a universal instrument for targeted cleaning of root surfaces, the 5P, 5Pr and 5Pl tips were specially designed for cleaning angled roots. Thanks to the special design of the 5P tip, it is ideal for cleaning furcations and concavities in the anterior cuspid region. Concretions are targeted for removal, thereby meeting all the other requirements for regeneration of inflamed hard and soft tissue.

Perfect instrument set for successful aftercare (SPT)

Supportive periodontal treatment (SPT) is an essential component of long-term treatment success. The focus here is on particularly atraumatic treatment and targeted biofilm management. Whilst the 1P tip is suitable for atraumatic cleaning of tooth surfaces in the subgingival region, the optimized design of the 3Pr and 3Pl tips allows simple subgingival access to periodontal pockets in the region of hard-to-access molars in particular. With the periodontal tips 1P, 3Pr and 3Pl, W&H is now offering dental hygienists the ideal instrument set for successful long-term prophylactic therapy.

The expanded periodontal tip range from W&H offers ideal support for systematic periodontal therapy. In addition to efficient, targeted removal of hard and soft deposits both above and below the gum line, it offers periodontologists and dental hygienists support and allows them to work in a way which preserves tissue and tooth substance whilst simultaneously maintaining the patients’ oral health.
