By using synergies of the two strong brands and the innovative product range of W&H and Planmeca, customers benefit from a unique offering dedicated to the Indian market demands. The new office centre of W&H India and Planmeca India started its operation in Bangalore, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka, in November 2016. The aim of the new joint premises is to present a wide product range of the cooperation partners. Equipped with a state-of-the-art showroom and excellent facilities for local customer support and customer service, the office will be an important focal point for Indian customers.

W&H India and Planmeca India will be operated by General Manager Raghavan Radhakrishnan, who has several years of experience in the Indian dental sector. Together with his dedicated teams for W&H and Planmeca, he is responsible for the continuous market development and the expansion of the distribution and service network.

”With the local presence of our sales and service team we can establish a direct link to the Indian customers. This is an important basis to build up a good reputation and create confidence of our Indian users with the W&H and Planmeca products we sell”, states Raghavan Radhakrishnan.

A perfect portfolio expansion for the Indian market needs

The aim of the collaboration of the two European dental manufacturers W&H and Planmeca is to use the synergies in offering a well-rounded and unique product portfolio to dental professionals. While W&H is internationally known as a manufacturer of precision dental instruments and dental devices, Planmeca is a renowned industry expert for high quality dental units, 2D and 3D imaging devices, and comprehensive CAD/CAM and software solutions. The combination of the product offerings of the two companies provides a perfect portfolio expansion for the Indian market.

“We consider India to be a growing market which is looking for advanced technology in the dental field. We are able to provide advanced technology with units for maxillo-facial surgery like implantology motors with special handpieces, products for restorative treatment like high speed and low speed handpieces as well as electric motors. In the field of hygiene we provide autoclaves and maintenance devices for handpieces. The collaboration with Planmeca, also a family-run enterprise with advanced technology, allows for synergies of two strong brands. The purpose of establishing a subsidiary in India is to be able to learn first-hand the needs of dentistry in India.

For both companies, which have been active in the South Asian country previously, the current cooperation on the Indian market is considered as an important long-term investment. Beside the institutional sector, a particular focus will be directed to the private sector, as the demand for innovative high-tech solutions for efficient patient care is currently growing in India.
