Dr Frank Tolsdorf: Handpieces and contra-angle handpieces proved to be convincing at the dental clinic
Dr Frank Tolsdorf is the Commercial Director of the University Dental Clinic Witten/Herdecke. For more than 10 years, W&H has held a monopoly in the field of straight and contra-angle handpieces – and for good reasons.
"Our dental clinic employs 35 practitioners and our inventory currently comprises around 350 Synea Fusion handpieces and contra-angle handpieces. We also use surgical products from the Austrian manufacturer. Prior to collaboration with W&H we launched a tender process back in 2014 or 2015. Straight and contra-angle handpieces from various manufacturers were requested and tested in practice, with their application behaviour evaluated under different parameters. Overall, W&H achieved the best results and were the most convincing to the clinicians."

"We still have a large number of handpieces and contra-angle handpieces from the first order batch in our inventory, meaning they are over 10 years old – an excellent sign of quality, as they are still in daily use. As Commercial Director, my job is to solve problems, and with W&H, there aren’t any. In case of problems, we work with a service partner who quickly assesses whether a repair is worthwhile or if a new investment is the better option. With such a high number of pieces, sustainability and a long service life are essential decision-making criteria, especially with regard to cost-efficiency."
