We begin a new interview series titled “Women who are Changing Dentistry,” a collection of interviews conducted by Oliver Goetzendorff (Area Manager Latin America) that offers a glimpse into the lives of entrepreneurial women working in the dental sector. Each of them shares something personal - their background, their aspirations, what drives and motivates them. These are women who inspire us!

Bibiana, Luz Mary, María Fernanda, and Vanessa are the first four entrepreneurs featured in the interview series.

Bibiana Sánchez: Paving the Way

This is the first interview in the series "Women who are Changing Dentistry," in which Oliver Goetzendorff speaks with marketing specialist Bibiana Sánchez, a leader in marketing strategies and education who is paving the way with her work and dedication.

From Bogotá, Bibiana has built a solid career in the healthcare industry. A dentist by training and a marketing specialist, her story is a journey through the professional, emotional, and spiritual life of a woman who has learn how to adapt, reinvent herself, and flourish in difficult circumstances.

While in college, her parents faced financial problems, forcing her to postpone her seventh semester. It was then that she began working in the pharmaceutical industry, promoting a pediatric vaccine, and where she discovered the corporate world. Although she initially planned to study medicine, life took her down a different but meaningful path. With her grandparents' financial support, she was able to complete her dentistry studies, and began her professional career, working in healthcare and even spending time abroad.

Bibiana Sánchez is changing dentistry by making courageous decisions that are opening up new possibilities for her.

One moment that marked her personally was seeing how a daisy she had planted grew so large that the pot became too small for it. "There are places where they don't allow you to flourish," she thought. And that metaphor remains with her to this day: If you're not growing, that's not your place.

Today, Bibiana is part of a dental multinational group, working in an environment that values cultural diversity, continuous training, and sharing knowledge. She has learned new languages and strengthened her relationship skills, all of which reaffirms every day her conviction that life is better when it's shared.

I firmly believe that when we pave the way, we don’t just move forward ourselves - we make space for many others to follow.

For Bibiana Sánchez, changing dentistry is a way to honor courageous decisions: those made even with fear, when there are no certainties, just convictions. She believes true growth occurs outside of one's comfort zone, and that every step you take opens up new possibilities.
