W&H Implant stability measurement solutions

With the Osstell Beacon and Osstell Classic, the W&H Group offers two tools for implant stability measurement. Both solutions share the same goal: to support clinicians in optimising healing periods for various clinical situations and implant systems. The devices help determine the stability of dental implants without interfering with the biological healing process. Fast, non-invasive, and precise, they provide clinicians with valuable diagnostic information for confident, evidence-based decision-making.

„With Osstell, there is no doubt as to whether the implant is osseointegrated or not, contributing to an increase in my success rate in immediate and early loading, as I can quickly be sure whether I can load the implant or not”, says Dr. Alef Menezes. Using advanced resonance frequency analysis (RFA), the Osstell Beacon and Osstell Classic deliver real-time insights by sending a magnetic pulse to the SmartPeg, generating an accurate Implant Stability Quotient (ISQ) value. This value enables clinicians to determine the optimal time to load an implant, allowing for an individualised treatment plan that reduces risk and enhances patient outcomes.

Connected and intuitive – Osstell Beacon

The Osstell Beacon stands out as a smart solution for modern implantology – thanks to its seamless connectivity with OsstellConnect and the W&H Implantmed Plus. Its direct integration with the OsstellConnect platform enables efficient monitoring and documentation of implant treatments. The digital tool considers key factors such as patient-specific risk characteristics, implant brand, and loading protocols. After implant placement, the Implant Stability Quotient (ISQ) value can be easily recorded and tracked within the system – offering greater control throughout the healing process. “Monitoring our ISQ values has allowed us to customise our loading protocols for each individual patient increasing the predictability of treatment outcomes”, emphasizes Dr. Aly Virani. For an even more efficient workflow, the Osstell Beacon can be paired with W&H’s Implantmed Plus. This combination allows the ISQ value to be displayed directly on the Implantmed Plus screen – simplifying clinical procedures and enabling real-time decision-making during implant placement.

Basic option – Osstell Classic

For those who prefer a straightforward approach to measuring implant stability, the Osstell Classic offers a reliable and efficient solution. Designed as a basic option, it provides accurate ISQ values directly on its display – without additional features or connectivity. While it does not support integration with OsstellConnect or the W&H Implantmed, the Osstell Classic can still be used as a standalone device, allowing clinicians to carry out reliable implant stability measurements as part of their routine workflow.
