10:30 – 11:00 Infection Prevention With evidence-based information, attendees will recognise the risk of cross-infection in dental surgery and thus the importance of infection prevention
11:00 – 11:15 Pre-Surgery Asepsis This session illustrates, with pictures and videos, standard precautions prior to surgery
11:15 – 12:15 COFFEE BREAK
12:15 – 13:30 Dental Instruments Reprocessing Asepsis involves complex procedures which need to be regularly questioned. This session offers theoretical and practical tips for “best practice” reprocessing of dental instruments

14:30 – 15:00 More About Sterilization This session demonstrates the benefits of steam sterilization (vs dry heat) and the fundamentals of the EN 13060, i.e. load and cycle description, final check, regular testing and PCDs
15:00 – 15:15 Chemical Indicators Overall description and appropriate use of Chemical Indicators and PCDs
15:15 – 15:45 Handpieces Reprocessing Handpieces are more complex and thus more challenging to clean and sterilize than others, without adequate equipment and specific processes
15:45 – 16:00 Traceability
Legal Aspects
This module, “de-dramatises” the traceability of the sterilization process whilst showing how simple practices can be compliant and legally protected
