In Markt Schwaben, Upper Bavaria, Dr Maximilian Kollmuß established his practice in January 2026, taking over a long-established dental practice offering a traditional range of treatments. He immediately expanded the portfolio to include implantology services, made possible by his investment in the new Implantmed Plus II from W&H.

The following clinical case studies illustrate the advantages of piezosurgery in various regenerative bone therapy procedures. In the first case, alveolar ridge reconstruction using block grafts is performed in preparation for implant treatment in a patient with a completely edentulous maxilla and severe bone resorption. In the second clinical example, this technology is used for implant site preparation using bovine block grafts, followed by implant placement. Both case reports are part of Chapter 9 of the book Cirugía piezoeléctrica: generalidades y aplicaciones clínicas.

Autologous block grafts are considered the gold standard for bone augmentation in the treatment of severe bone defects.
