Focus on what matters – with Implantmed Plus II
In January 2026, Dr Maximilian Kollmuß established his own practice in Markt Schwaben, Upper Bavaria, by taking over a long-standing clinic with a conventional treatment spectrum. This was immediately expanded to include implantology services, made possible by an investment in the new Implantmed Plus II from W&H.
Implantologist based in Markt Schwaben
"After completing my studies at LMU Munich, I worked there for eleven years as a resident and senior dentist, most recently as the head of the Restorative and Digital Dentistry area. I am now delighted to be back home in Markt Schwaben. However, taking over a practice initially means working with the existing resources.
My predecessor had primarily focused on providing a comprehensive range of services for the whole family, while surgical and implantology procedures were referred to specialists. Due to my professional qualifications, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to further develop the range of treatments towards digital dentistry and implantology.“
A trusted market player when it comes to quality
"I gathered my initial inspiration for my own practice at IDS 2025 in Cologne. This became more concrete from autumn 2025 during my collaboration with my dental supplier. It was through this that I came across the new Implantmed Plus II from W&H. I quickly realised that I would invest in this system and that – alongside an intraoral scanner and a new CBCT unit – it would integrate perfectly into my practice’s new digital workflow.
The manufacturer W&H has been familiar to me for many years. Even during my time at university, we worked with W&H straight and contra-angle handpieces, among others. And the distance from Bavaria to the Salzburg region is just a short hop. I value regional proximity – for me, „Made in Austria“ not only carries qualitative but also emotional significance.“
Growth at your own pace
"My decision to invest in the Implantmed Plus II was based on an overall package of multiple factors – above all, its modular design and the possibility of upgradeability. I find the Piezomed module Plus II particularly intriguing, even if it may still be a bit premature for my current patient base. From a purely technical standpoint, however, I am ideally positioned. I also purchased the device cart right away and truly value the added flexibility it provides in my new practice.“
Never again without scan function
“Only a few weeks passed between ordering and delivery of the surgical motor. Implantmed Plus II was delivered and installed, and at the same time the W&H field service team trained our entire practice team. All functions, as well as the reprocessing of the components, were explained in detail, and we were able to explore the menu hands-on. There was no need for extensive familiarisation, as everything is truly intuitive and self-explanatory.
My personal highlight is the scan function. I am convinced that regulatory authorities will require even greater transparency in dental practices in the future – whether in terms of batch documentation or the recording of torque curves. Digital processes will continue to gain importance in quality management.”
With Implantmed Plus II, I am already ideally prepared for all upcoming challenges.
Dr med. dent. Maximilian Kollmuß
One of the best investments when taking over the practice
“I am very satisfied with the Implantmed Plus II and enjoy the comfortable working experience every time I use it. At university, I worked with a much older implantology motor – in comparison, it is impressive what is technically possible today. The new device is simply a pleasure to use and supports me in every clinical function, particularly in conventional implantology. I also perform osteotomies with it and have purchased a surgical handpiece for this purpose – also from W&H.“
