Pressure Vessel Inspections Requirements: Covid-19

Please be aware that W&H sterilizers are subject to annual pressure vessel inspections as part of the Pressure Safety Systems Regulations Act 2000:128. We would like to remind our customers that the responsibility to ensure that this is carried out is that of the Registered Manager (Executive manager) in the practice. W&H UK Ltd or it’s endorsing body is not responsible for ensuring that your equipment is tested. We wanted to clarify that using pressure vessels without an up-to-date certificate of testing is illegal and may render your insurance policy invalid.

The outbreak of Covid-19 is a challenging situation and one that is changing constantly and we are receiving regular updates from many agencies. We have been made aware that the Health and Safety Executive is not considering any exemptions or relaxation of the rules on the testing of pressure vessels under the Pressure Safety Systems Regulations Act 200:128 due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Please therefore ensure that your sterilizer has an up-to-date certificate to guarantee compliance.
