A systematic approach to treatment success: W&H presents Oral Surgery Compass
The W&H Oral Surgery Compass provides a practical guide through every step in oral surgery and implantology – from diagnosis and treatment to final documentation. It illustrates how each W&H device contributes to the treatment process and how the medical devices work seamlessly together.

Diagnosis
Accurate diagnosis forms the foundation of every successful treatment, providing all the essential information needed to perform procedures safely and tailor them to each individual patient. With Seethrough, a comprehensive imaging portfolio is available to clinicians: in the extraoral segment, two high-end CBCT units deliver highly detailed images while keeping radiation exposure low. For intraoral applications, a flexible X-ray arm is complemented by two reading systems. At the core of the W&H imaging portfolio is Seethrough Studio – the software that ensures consistently high standards across the entire imaging portfolio.
Planning & Preparation
Based on precise diagnostic data, each treatment is carefully planned and prepared. Seethrough Studio offers an integrated planning tool that enables straightforward visualisation and preparation of procedures. In addition, W&H partners with SICAT, a high-end provider of implant planning software. Planning data from SICAT Implant can be seamlessly transferred to the Implantmed Plus II, turning a single planning process into the base for patient- and treatment-specific settings.
Treatment
Whether it’s wisdom tooth extraction, implantation, or apicoectomy, W&H supports surgeons throughout every stage of the treatment with high-quality devices designed to optimise each step.
The new Implantmed Plus II combines a powerful surgical motor with intelligent features, and its connection to implant planning software enables the automatic transfer of all relevant treatment parameters directly to the device. Complementing this, the new Piezomed Plus II module brings innovative ultrasound technology into clinical practice. W&H surgical handpieces ensure precise procedures, while the wireless foot control offers additional comfort and freedom of movement. This perfectly coordinated interaction of W&H medical devices ensures optimal conditions for successful treatment.
Monitoring & Documentation
Comprehensive monitoring and documentation are crucial for the quality of any implant procedure. Osstell Beacon provides reliable assessment of implant stability using resonance frequency analysis, supporting predictable treatment outcomes for both patients and clinicians. The new Implantmed Plus II optimises documentation: with the integrated scan function, implants, and biomaterials can be recorded directly via the packaging code, eliminating time-consuming manual follow-up documentation. At the same time, the collected data is the source for generating reports, such as implant passports or referral documents, and ensures full traceability.
